Munjez is designed to be offline-first and works locally on your device. However, it connects to the internet for: checking for app updates, downloading additional ambient sounds on demand, authentication and cloud sync via Firebase (when signed in), fetching Hijri calendar and prayer time data via the Aladhan API, and real-time whiteboard collaboration. All core features work fully offline without signing in.
All your data is stored locally in a SQLite database on your device. When you sign in, you can optionally enable cloud sync via Firebase, which stores a copy of your data on the cloud for cross-device access. On Windows, the local data folder is located at %LOCALAPPDATA%\com.osama.dev\Munjez.
No. Updates preserve your data automatically. The app creates a backup before any update to make sure nothing is lost.
Munjez is not yet signed with a paid code-signing certificate, so Windows SmartScreen flags it as an unrecognized app. This is normal for independent apps and does not mean the app is harmful. To proceed, click More info then Run anyway. Full step-by-step instructions are on the installation guide page.
Munjez is available on Windows (10/11), Linux (AppImage, DEB, RPM), and Android (APK). It is also listed on the Microsoft Store.

Yes. Munjez supports custom keyboard shortcuts with macros — you can bind key combinations to perform multiple actions in sequence.

Yes. Munjez includes a library of ambient sounds (rain, café, nature, and more) that you can mix together to create your ideal focus environment.
